A challenge has been placed before our society at a time where we are bombarded with existential threats, fear and misinformation. Can we make a decision from our tender inner knowing and our rational meaning making as we walk through the flames of influence?
We have a constitutional referendum in the last quarter of the year for an indigenous voice to parliament.
To permanently acknowledge the unique position of the First Nations people of Australia and to establish an on-going advisory mechanism called the Voice.
There are many questions going unanswered leaving gaps for fear, assumption, doubt and uncertainty.
A discussion is integral to clearing the static to refine the signal.
How can we understand the heart of what is being proposed and each make a choice that will empower all people of Australia?
Can we shift the trend of incentive and lean upon our humankindness?
This is a powerful opportunity to set a precedent with our decision making and change the course of history.
Everyone is welcome; yes, no and those in-between.
Let the alchemy of opposites dance to create the gold.
REFLECTION
Intense and intimate, two words to accurately describe our discussions on the voice.
We are confronted with systemic apathy among the collective,
mass information outside of the realm in which we have agency,
the existence of Molach, an entity to symbolise our mindless thirst for more driving us off the edge of existence even when we aware of this,
how to inspire rather than isolate, focusing upon vision and the opportunity of the referendum, bringing a voice to the gentle connected aspect of ourselves who remember our close relationship with the land,
looking beyond identity and pragmatic matters to a mythopoetic vision that aligns us with the changes of the universe,
Mistrust of the government post covid and actively trusting in the face of fear and scarcity,
Paradigm shifts and the rise of the feminine.
Australia as the lightning rod for spiritual renewal.
We really went everywhere with this discussion and this speaks to the potential trajectory/timeline shift that this referendum represents.
We had a mixture of stances on the yes/no vote for the proposed changes to the constitution; to include recognition of the first nations people and an on-going representative advisory mechanism called the voice.
My first initial impulse was; ‘well the government doesn’t seem to listen to the people anyway, so why would it listen to indigenous groups who never ceded their land?’
I then had a variety of conversations with people who were passionate and believed that their agency and voting power did have an impact upon the decisions of our government and therefore the trajectory of our society. This inspired me to start the process of educating myself which lead to the discovery of the inspiring and paradigm shifting opportunity of the voice.
First of all we must understand the significance of this referendum, the precedent it will set for the next decade, century, even millennia.
What kind of society do you wish to see you and your children participate in the future?
A society that plays zero sum games with itself, where there are winners and losers, where being a good human is devalued and rendered apathetic while the rich list is worshipped as they capitalise on the destruction of the environment, our bodies and minds? For example big energy companies, big pharma, centralised media, big tech, approaching AI, etc. This proposed world perpetuates separation, not only between marginal groups and the majority but from individual to individual, exponentially increasing threat, fear and scarcity.
Or
Do we want to live in a world in which our decisions are not directed by money, fear and scarcity but by trust, love and compassion? A world where we can rely and collaborate with each other, drink and eat from the healthy rivers and land and live in alignment with the environment. This is a world in which we bring a voice to qualitative aspects of life. A voice that acts as a navigator amongst the manipulative advisors (lobbyists and politicians) whispering a wisdom that connects to a gentle intuitive knowing that we all have. And it doesn’t mean abandoning our technological luxuries and conveniences but aligning them with the environment in order to sustain a healthy and abundant existence for generations to come.
This is the opportunity of the voice.
We live in a country in which the first nations peoples have a direct connection to the land and the universe, a relationship that extends to 60 000 years as far as our science can detect that has only recently been largely disrupted in the last 120-200 years.
Born from this ancient and carefully looked after relationship is a perspective that is rich and full of the wisdom of the universe; millennia of pattern recognition, cycles, experiential wisdom and even inter dimensional understanding that is far beyond our own comprehension of reality.
What we forget is that a long time ago we were all indigenous, connected to a land somewhere, listening to the universe and travelling alongside the rhythms of the changing seasons. We have largely lost this connection but feel it in our bodies as an unrecognisable grief and underneath it all an intuitive knowing. This intuitive knowing is what has guided all great human feats of compassion and historical figures such as Martin Luther King, Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, JFK, even the literal stories of Jesus and the Buddha are representative of mastering compassion in the face of fear and scarcity.
Humankind
Humankindness
Inherent
Switched on by the power of belief, trust, faith, love, whatever you wish to call it, an unmeasurable qualitative power, the experience of life.
Jungian Psychotherapist and academic David Tacey articulate’s it perfectly.
“A genuine spirituality can emerge from the creative interaction of humanity and the sacred. This is the archetypal background that could easily result in Australia becoming the lightning rod for the spiritual renewal and re-invigoration of the contemporary world”
Australia has an opportunity, to give a voice to a people that hold a sacred wisdom we have mostly ignored, abused and forgotten internally and externally of ourselves, that if amplified can balance our imbalanced world and heal our souls.
This is the vision and opportunity of the voice that inspires me.
As we enter into the feminine part of the universe we are given the opportunity to choose change and flow or hold onto irrelevant static structures of the past. When we hold on we are inevitably delivered to crisis.
This referendum is an opportunity to move with the momentum of the universe.
What will you choose?
